MRM chose Best Movie That Became a TV Show as this week’s theme.
Well, there’s really not much competition around here, both Ruf and I immediately said ‘Mash’. But I guess that rather shows our age.
Looking down the list compiled by Sky – Buffy the Vampire Slayer comes in top with Clueless, Stargate, Ghostbusters and Star Wars following close behind. And then I was reminded of another series that I had quite forgotten.
The Raiders of the Lost Ark spin-off was The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles and very good it was too, providing a fascinating insight into the relationship between Harrison Ford’s grown-up Indie and his father, played by Sean Connery.

Good afternoon Joanna,
MASH is definitely the top pick for this topic, it was an excellent movie and no other television show matched its quality. Don’t worry about showing your age, you carry it very well.
I enjoyed the Indiana Jones movies, never saw the TV show.
Have a great clip day.

I gotta admit to being to young for MASH. I’ve intentionally tried to back log it more than once and fallen short each time.
I’m afraid I’m going to have to reveal both age and nerdiness levels by throwing my support behind Buffy and Stargate . . . could this be why I’m single right now?

JC, great clip. I have a hard time believing this is the “official” MASH trailer. I watched it on youtube when I was looking for a clip and there is no way they would have allowed “bitch” and “tits” to be said on television in 1970. Happy MCW and good luck in your new business venture.
MASH and the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles were two Movie to TV Shows I mentioned this week (great minds). Both were very good TV series even though YIJC only lasted 2 seasons, it was a time when I couldn’t get enough Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Happy MCW!
LOL, there are lots of people who enjoyed Buffy and Stargate. I think I was too busy having kids at the time but you know my affection for Star Trek so I’m certainly not going to go pointing any fingers :)
To be fair, Buzz, there weren’t that many good tv shows to choose from so those two really stood out. :) Im sure I would have enjoyed Buffy if I had had more time.
