TMI Tuesday #226 – Deadly Sins Edition (repeat)
1. LUST: Besides your current Significant Other who do you lust for or have you lusted for?
Russell Crowe as Bud in LA Confidential and Maximus in Gladiator
Brad Pitt in Troy
David Caruso in NYPD Blue
Martin O’Neill, Manager of Aston Villa (I know, I know, but everyone is allowed to have an Inexplicable Crush!)
Sage (rectified as per instruction :) -
2. GLUTTONY: What food brings out your inner glutton?
Sausage Rolls and savoury pastries, roast dinners with all the trimmings – spuds, parsnips, yorkshire pudding – and, of course, mmmmm bacon – Cue Homer Simpson-style noises
3. GREED: What are you greedy for?
Didn’t I just answer that?
Well, if it’s not food, then it has to be the next orgasm. One is never enough! And, I’ve discovered that the more you have, the better they get :)
4. SLOTH: What is your plan for an ideal day of sloth?
LOL, If Ruf is spending the weekend, then the morning in bed, only stopping for toast and tea. Getting up and lying around on the sofa watching Boston Legal or a movie, making dinner… and then going back to bed again for a snooze or something… with a bit of yoga thrown in to stretch off a bit :)
If I’m spending the weekend on my own, then a pyjama day. No housework, getting up and eating breakfast catching up on all the bloggers on my Blogroll. Then some time on the sofa in front of a movie, before reading the weekend newspaper, whilst the aroma of roasting flesh and potatoes fills the flat. Yum!
5. WRATH: Describe a time that you let out a can of whoop ass on someone.
I don’t tend to express anger. It is such a negative emotion. So I suppress it for 30 years and end up having counselling. I find saying when something upsets you at the time in a calm and explanatory manner seems to get better results these days.
I have to admit that, for my black belt grading, I found something from somewhere because the guy I was fighting was so poor that he was making me look bad. I had to step it up a gear and he found himself hitting the deck a fair few times… I still feel a bit guilty about that… as well as strangely elated :)
6. ENVY: Who or what do you envy? Why?
Well I’d love to have a lifestyle where money was not a consideration and I was able to help people less fortunate. All shared with a man I loved and who loved me back – so I suppose Brangelina. Although, I wouldn’t want to be them.
7. PRIDE: Have you ever had to swallow your pride? What are you proud of?
All the time. I cannot count the number of times I’ve said sorry for something that wasn’t my fault, just to keep the peace or get the job done.
These days? MYSELF
And that’s scary, because, remember, pride always comes before a fall.

are those really the seven deadly sins?
It just doesn’t make sense to me.
Lust is what drives two bodies together. A good thing.
Gluttony…well. It’s deadliness in in the practice. So, to be an occasional glutton seems to matter not at all.
Greed. Greed of what? Life? Liberty? Freedom?
Sloth? Even the bible’s God slothed for a time.
Wrath….well. Getting angry sometimes gets things done, AND is also a defense mechanism. A woman scorned is likely to show her wrath. Better to be nice.
Envy. HA! I used to envy a lot. My brother jas been a five and six digit earner for many times in our past.
When I stopped envying his lifestyle, I found myself envying even more spiritual lifestyles…
Pride?
Silliest of all, for if one has no pride intheir works, they have nothing.
But, TMI?
heck…often.
Way too often.
But then, I’m trying to improve…
d=))
Hey Boneman! Nice answers! You should try to play along next week :)
I think the ‘sins’ that are deemed deadly are in fact life-affirming. They keep us going amidst the torments of the world. Of course, indulgence is a different thing from wretched excess, but even that doesn’t hurt once in a while. And as far as pride is concerned, I believe all art stems from pride. Otherwise, why should anybody else care what we write, paint, sculpt or compose. We have to believe in ourselves or nobody else will. And as for lust, that is frosting on the cake of life and one of God’s great blessings. He wouldn’t make us hard or wet if we weren’t supposed to use the gear.
‘Lust is the frosting on the cake of life’… Oh, yes indeedy!
ok I quit reading when I wasn’t listed in #1!
;-)
LMAO, Situation rectified, you can put your gun away now :P
