Because I enjoyed their Touch Shaft Vibrator in conjunction with my clit stimulator, the lovely people at Ann Summers sent me the actual Rampant Rabbit Touch version, complete with ears.
My aversion to ‘rabbit’ style female vibrators is well documented on this blog and only the Thruster has really hit the mark for me. I just don’t like those ears. But I had high hopes for the Touch because of my previous experience. Stimulating my clit caused my internal muscles to contract on their own, setting off the sensitive bands in the vibrator’s shaft and giving me an instinctive orgasm to remember.
The problem with the ears of the rabbit is that they just don’t have the same amount of power as a dedicated clit stimulator. Combine this with a physiological problem caused by my size and shape – if I have the shaft fully inserted, neither the ears nor the nose sits comfortably on the external part of my anatomy which requires the stimulation. Yes, they are flexible and can be positioned roughly in the right area but it doesn’t produce the same effect and interferes with the performance of the shaft.
But let’s go back to the beginning. It looked up at me promisingly from the cocoon of its plastic shrinkwrap covering as I photographed it and gave it a once over to familiarise myself with its controls.
Somehow the curled softness of the ears kept in place by the plastic reminded me of a penis in those moments just before arousal starts to kick in. Restrained by the underpants and snuggled against the torso of its owner.
The shaft is 5.5 inches long and 5 inches in circumference. Considerably larger than the Touch that was already in my possession. Width-wise, it’s also rather bigger than its counterpart – it fills me very nicely thank you very much. Length-wise is more problematic as described above and compounded by the fact that I don’t have very long arms so getting the thing inserted in the first place is something of a trial. I removed the clingfilm, gave it a clean and inserted the 4 AAA batteries into the base.
Climbing back into bed on a rainy Sunday morning, I lubed everyone up and then turned to my favourite clit stimulator, which is guaranteed to get me wet enough to effect the entry of a big boy.
The Rampant Rabbit Touch is controlled by two press buttons in the shaft near the base. On/off which has three red lights and one brrr brrr vibration to let you know it’s on and an ‘Oooohh’ button below it which controls the vibrating pattern of the ears – varying degrees of continuous and a couple of pulses.
As I have also mentioned ad nauseum, the muscles of my vagina are in pretty good condition and so the shaft began vibrating as soon as it got past the gatekeeper. Sliding it further up, it reached the mid-way point, signalled by the change of vibration from continuous to pulsing, and then to to the top where the vibe returns to continuous.
That’s when I switched on the ears and was almost immediately disappointed because the strength of the vibration inside me completely overshadowed that of the external ears, even when I went through the different speeds and intensities on offer through the oooohh button.
And the shaft of this Rampant Rabbit version seems to be slightly different to the Touch Shaft. The Rabbit is sensitive to the muscles on the front wall of the vagina so if it is not pressing against those, it stops vibrating. I tested this afterwards by grasping it in my palm. In the Touch Shaft, I was not aware of that at all but it could be the result of the trajectory the Rabbit is forced into due to the positioning of the ears on the outside and the shape of my vagina.
For me, the shaft was pushed downwards so that it was resting against the back wall and the movement kept spluttering out, despite me clenching my muscles as tightly as I could to hold it in place. I just couldn’t make it press hard enough against the front wall unless I pushed down on the base slightly with my finger tip to adjust the angle of the tip. I am more than ever reminded of (and intensely grateful for) the angle of Ruf’s dangle and the way he is able to press his penis against all the right spots inside me.
In frustration, I turned the ears off and went back to my clit stimulator. With the additional power in one hand, I improvised and discovered a technique that can be applied to all my Rabbits.
Instead of just pushing the ears to one side to allow the clit stimulator to get in on the act, I rotated the Touch through 90 degrees.
This meant that I was able to grasp the ears as a handle to both maintain the correct angle and put the sensitive shaft areas in connection with the correlating body parts. Then I relaxed into the double stimulation, allowing the resulting instinctive clenching of my internal muscles to take me over the edge and beyond.
But it was a right performance and I, personally, much prefer the Touch Shaft version.
I would be very interested to hear anyone else’s experiences as I know that there are Rabbit fans out there and I do believe that, as a gauge of pelvic muscle strength, it is a really good gadget which will encourage women to work those Kegels.

Very interesting review there Joanna. I might save myself the bother now I’ve read it. I am curious however as to what your clit stimulator is. From Ann Summers or elsewhere? What’s it called? I’ve been on the hunt for one for a while and given the expense I didn’t want to make a mistake. Your opinion will be interesting :-)
Leah, I have done a post on my recommendation for a first vibrator at http://andeatingit2.com/first-female-vibrators/
My favourite Ann Summers version is the Ann Summers Ultra 10 and its diminutive counterpart the Ultra 10 Rocket.
