Oculingus

I was checking out Dr Ruthie’s site yesterday. There’s a lot of interesting stuff over there because Dr Ruthie is an expert on relationship coaching and sexuality education.

Ruf and I have been indulging in a little coaching ourselves through the book we have been reading – The Mastery of Love: A Practical Guide to the Art of Relationship: A Toltec Wisdom Book. This is easier for us because Ruf has a background that includes science and hypnotherapy so he can help me to interpret the language and extrapolate to apply the lessons to our own situation.

It has been instrumental in helping us to achieve an amazing intimacy recently. Open, honest communication coupled with consideration and understanding.

If you need a third party to encourage that sort of dialogue in your relationship, then Dr Ruthie is offering a free 30 minute consultation.

As I was browsing her site, I discovered a post on Oculingus .

Now, even after three years frequenting blogs that cover some of the more unusual fetishes, this one rather floored me. The idea of having someone lick my eyeball? I wear contact lenses and it’s bad enough putting my finger onto my own eyeball to remove the lenses. But to have someone else’s tongue there?

I’m shivering just thinking about it!

According to the article, the eyeball is covered in naturally salty water to keep it lubricated and clean so that’s what it tastes of and, whilst it cannot ‘feel’ in the way that our fingers and tongues do, it can sense pressure and temperature.

I just don’t get how anyone could become aroused by licking someone else’s eyeball so I guess this is not for me.

Whilst I was researching the very sparse information on the subject, I did find a site that told me about cataractivity – oculingus on an elderly person.

I couldn’t help remembering my Great Aunt’s cataracts – her eye just looked opaque because they were so bad.

And now I’m starting to feel quite queazy…

    queazy…
You and me, both my Friend.
Normally the START of discussions of contacts, and insertion, has my running to the little room.

One of my close friends is having the laser surgery to correct her extreme short sightedness. I think if anyone was operating on my eye, they’d need to knock me out properly first!

  • oh god, you learn about a new fetish every day! DEFINITELY not for me.

  • I heard of this quite a few years ago but have never tried it, as either a giver or receiver. Not that it squicks me out, it’s just the risk of eye infection that concerns me. The balance of natural bacterial fauna in the fornix (up under the lids) is very delicate and quite easily disturbed, particularly when exposed to the mass of otherwise foreign bacteria that live in the mouth. Conjunctivitis would be a real risk.

By the way, tear fluid is not just salty water. It also contains proteins, enzymes – notably lysosyme which has an antibacterial effect – and lipids which lubricate the passage of the lids and prevent the watery phase from evaporating too quickly. Tears really are very complex.

Once again I am in awe of the complexity and beauty of the human body

  • …Not to mention the risk of Herpes Simplex infection.

I had a female colleague once who revealed that she let her boyfriend touch her eyeball with the tip of his penis. Now that is seriously weird!

Ugh! But, yes, it must be possible to transmit STIs to that part of your flesh as any other

I don’t know… I think it’s kind of hot. I mean not the penis in my eye– I’ve never tried that… but my boyfriend likes licking my eyes, and I don’t mind that much…

  • There's no wrong on practicing your own sexual behavior as long as you as a person can control the feeling of being such a sexual person.

I agree totally but I just find it hard to believe that having your eyeball licked can be arousing…
