Whilst Anonymous Boxer takes a couple of weeks to get her virtual house in order, I am attempting to step into bigger shoes and just keep things ticking over with some quirkier topics.
Kate Middleton will be marrying her Prince on Friday and we all hope that this wedding will be the start of a much happier union than that of his parents and in honour of this momentous event, the theme this week is Best Wedding in a Movie.
The images of Lady Diana Spencer marrying the Prince of Wales in a fairytale dress will always remain in people’s minds just as these two scenes from the movies remain in mine.
The forced marriage of Dale and Ming and the guitar pomp Wedding March performed by Queen… and the Sound of Music where Maria leaves behind the life where she never quite fitted in to be with a man who is so secure in his own skin that he can allow her to be herself and just love her.
The ultimate celebration of Mills & Boon type romance.

The Flash Gordon wedding was a little wacky (wasn’t there a Star Trek wedding somewhere?) and the 2nd movie was your “royals” wedding (I don’t know the movie. Interesting that both scenes use non-traditional wedding songs.
I’m up at the Buzzkill with my F-ing tribute to weddings.
I’ll be around tonight to visit everyone.
Happy MCW!
Hey Buzz! Thanks for playing :) I think you might be right about the Star Trek wedding – was it Deanna and Will maybe? Or perhaps Kirk married an alien… ? Anyone?
I love the non traditional wedding marches too. Maybe if I go up the aisle again, I shall do that. Anyone got any suggestions?
Good afternoon Joanna,
Thank you for taking over the hosting duties. I haven’t seen this version of Flash Gordon. All the ones I saw stared Buster Crabbe. I think it’s neat how this version still use the 1930s looking special effects. I may have to see it. And as far as Sound of Music I’ve seen the movie so many times I can’t count. It was one of my kids’ favorite videos. Even with the overload, I still enjoy it.
You could try the tune I posted today it’s definitely not traditional.
Running a little bit late today but I’m up.
A very happy clip day to you, madame hostess.

I put something on, dear Joanna.
LMAO @ Karl – are you saying that Ruf and I would have to be drunk to get married :P
When I first heard that Queen were involved with a film called Flash Gordon, I had no idea what to expect having never seen the old movies. I think it was panned at the time by the critics but I very much enjoyed it and I believe the Flash theme got to Number 1 in the charts. Everyone always remembers Brian Blessed (the bloke with the black beard) shouting ‘Gordon’s Alive!’.
Hey Cakey Pie!!
Wow, you dear folks in Jolly Olde England is about to have one heck of a good show–whoo-hoo!
I put up a MCW post at Ether Capacious –enjoy!
