Anonymous Boxer has chosen Liz Taylor Movies as this week’s theme to commemorate the huge influence that lady had on our celluloid experience.
Her on/off relationship with Richard Burton was something that shaped my own attitude to romance – it had to be a living breathing thing that juxtaposed passion and hatred to have some value. Cleopatra epitomised that joining together of two equally powerful partners with a metallic clash.
And, of course, National Velvet was the film that made me love the Grand National, whilst her Rebecca in Ivanhoe caused me to examine and glory in my own Jewish heritage.

That was a nice compilation. I forgot how good she was (and good looking) in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.
Happy MCW!
Hey Buzz, She was a very stunning woman – not conventionally pretty, but very memorable
