I have always painted landscapes, fantasy, tigers, people, dogs, horses, in watercolours, oils and acrylics, and usually by the time I’ve explained to someone all that I do, they lose interest. But, when I say I’m an Erotic Artist, I ALWAYS get their attention, and they ALWAYS want to know more about me and what I do. So, that’s how I describe myself, even though I suppose all my art is actually “sensual” – that is, of the senses, rather than purely erotic…
I said that I’d happily paint landscapes if that would bring me work in, but I seem to get more work by being an erotic artist. Funny, but that’s the way it is!!!! LOL
And then he asked me the million dollar question. The one that’s really got me thinking…..
“Ah, but what do YOU want to be known FOR, as an artist?”
Jackie Adshead
I like Jackie’s blog. Whilst she talks a lot about her work as an artist, she can invariably make me think about my attitude to my life.
I’ve been struggling recently. Coming to terms with the public perception of my writing. The term ‘sex blog’ haunts me.
It’s not that I’m being snobby because that genre of blog is very popular and, indeed, extremely useful.
However, Having My Cake and Eating It Too is not exclusively dedicated to sex, it’s about my life as a whole.
A section of that life is my sexuality, but it is not the sum of all my parts.
I like Jackie’s use of the term ‘sensual’.
And I believe that it does describe my writing far better than just a generic ‘life blog’.
I think that I have found my new genre.

Are any of your painting viewable online, especially tigers?
If you click on the link in the post, Jackie has a whole gallery on display for your delectation :)
Thanks. Jackie sells your art?
I really like “Cool Regard!” Tigers have the most interesting faces.
LMAO… I wish! If Jackie sold my art, she wouldn’t make a bean! No, Jackie is the artist and, if you look at the Fantasy Fannies, you might even be able to spot the one she painted for me :)
I’ve struggled with a good way to describe these blogs because sex blog is too narrow and doesn’t begin to share the depth of the writers or their postings. Had thought that “interpersonal relationship blogs” might explain, but it doesn’t really work. But yes, sensual blog seems a good lable and so I’ll use it. Thank you and Jackie.
You’re welcome, Rosie. I was mulling over something like interpersonal relationship blog too, but it’s just such a mouthful!
