I’ve come a long way in the last couple of years.
Ruf laughs at me now because I love looking at my naked body in the mirror.
Every time I pass the Magic Mirror in his room, I twist and turn and preen and admire the reflection.
But, as I said to him, sometimes I get really cross with myself because, for so many years, I never appreciated how beautiful I was.
And I suddenly realise the truth, just as my body is beginnning to go into the gentle decline that must accompany a woman’s arrival at Menopause.
For how long can this menopausal body survive the ravages that age inexorably inflicts?
I have thirty years’ worth of admiring to do in a very short space of time.

Your lovely body will change, surely. But why are you convinced it will deteriorate? A lot of people actually manage to age gracefully (far more than television and the “beauty” industry would have you believe). If you were wrong about what you were, you can also be wrong about what you will become.
In any case, I believe you have a few more years to enjoy what you have.
If I looked in the mirror and saw what you see, I’d linger, too. In fact, I’m narcissistic enough to linger faced with what’s actually there.
You’ve got plenty of years left with that body, m’dear!
